Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering team. The role focuses on developing design documentation, performing calculations, and coordinating across disciplines with increasing autonomy and ownership of design work.

You will primarily model in Revit for HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection, contribute to project execution, assist with submittals and RFIs, review specifications, and collaborate with engineers to deliver compliant building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.
• Revit experience required.
• Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position.
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.

Responsibilities

• Produce the mechanical sheet list for projects and set up in Revit.
• Participate in the BIM Project Execution Plan.
• Support mechanical submittals and develop mechanical RFIs with supervision.
• Collaborate with project engineers on mechanical system components and coordinate with disciplines.
• Model HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection in Revit based on code and client requirements.
• Produce redline markups to delegate tasks to team members.
• Edit Division 21, 22, 23 specifications with engineers.
• Complete mechanical equipment sizing and energy code calculations with project engineers.
• Develop familiarity with code compliance and engineering best practices.
• Check work for graphical and technical issues before deliverables.
• Attend client and project team meetings to review mechanical requirements.
