Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Greenville, South Carolina seeks a senior electrical engineering leader to oversee the group delivering multi-discipline projects for nuclear power plants. You will guide design, calculations, specifications, and design change packages, coordinating with other disciplines and ensuring client satisfaction.

The role requires deep experience in electrical power systems, leadership of a design group, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 10+ years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants.
• 3+ years experience in leading an engineering design group through all phases of a project design.
• Experience in selection of equipment, materials, and preparation/assembly of design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc.).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for project team and client.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Detail-oriented approach; able to be badged for nuclear access.
• PE Licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts by group members to complete electrical engineering deliverables on time, within quality, budget, and controls.
• Initiate and convey scope of work to group members; define deliverables (calcs, specs, drawings, design changes).
• Review status and track progress; keep client informed; run routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Coordinate completion of project deliverables and manage open items and emergent issues.
• Lead detailed design phases and interface with other disciplines.
• Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Develop proposals for complex modifications at nuclear plants.
• Provide technical oversight for all electrical engineering activities: design change packages, calculations, equipment specs, vendor responses.
