Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced nuclear power systems engineer to contribute to the design and modification of plant systems. You will prepare and review modification packages, drawings, and specifications, and support vendor evaluations and project staffing.

The role involves presenting status to clients, visiting client offices or plant sites, and leading project teams on hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10 or more years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Interface with clients at office or plant sites and present engineering status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
