Placements24 is hiring an HR Generalist in East London (Hybrid) to support recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration. You will ensure compliance with labor laws and maintain HR records while delivering a positive employee experience. The role offers exposure to benefits administration, training coordination and HR reporting.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in HR, a relevant degree, and strong communication skills, with a proactive, independent work style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Admin, or related field required.
• 1–3 years of experience in HR Generalist or related role.
• Knowledge of South African labor law is essential.
• Strong HR practices and compliant HR administration are expected.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; experience with HRIS preferred.
• Hybrid work environment; able to balance in-office and remote work.
• Detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proactive, independent, and collaborative team contributor.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with full recruitment cycle from sourcing to onboarding.
• Manage employee relations and provide guidance to staff and management.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Ensure compliance with South African labor laws and company policies.
• Administer HR programs including performance management and benefits.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR matters.
• Support HR projects and initiatives; coordinate training and development.
• Assist with HR reporting and data analysis.
