Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Associate Engineering Intern to join the Grid project team in the U.S. This role supports senior engineers in design, calculations, specifications, and project reporting for transmission and distribution projects.

The position follows a hybrid schedule (three days in the office, two remote) with a target start date in summer 2027, and welcomes students pursuing Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degrees who want hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Other engineering degrees considered with relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities and data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
