Job summary

Delta Dental of Virginia seeks a strategic leader to establish and mature enterprise data governance as Director, Enterprise Data Steward. You will shape how data is defined, managed, trusted, and used to enable better decision-making and regulatory compliance.

You will partner with executives, business stakeholders, technology teams, and analytics professionals to foster accountability and adoption of governed data across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading enterprise data strategy and governance initiatives.
• 5+ years of leadership across matrixed organizations, healthcare or regulated industries preferred.
• Proven success maturing enterprise data governance programs.
• Strong understanding of data management concepts and governance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the enterprise data governance strategy, framework, and operating model.
• Establish data ownership and stewardship across key domains.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to ensure accurate, accessible data.
• Lead a cross-functional Data Council to drive alignment and resolve data challenges.
• Champion data quality, definitions, metadata, and trusted reporting standards.
• Promote data literacy and adoption of governed data assets.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce manual reporting.
