Job summary

Delta Dental of Massachusetts is seeking a Data Governance Lead to develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise-wide data governance framework across the organization. You will partner with IT, legal, compliance, analytics, data strategy and data engineering to ensure data quality, security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health informatics, Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6-8 years in data governance or information governance, incl. 4+ years in healthcare.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data governance initiatives in healthcare or life sciences.
• Deep understanding of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK), metadata management, MDM, data lifecycle management.
• HIPAA, HITECH, PHI/PII handling knowledge.
• SQL knowledge to support governance and reporting.
• Leadership and communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an enterprise-wide data governance strategy aligned to healthcare standards and privacy regulations.
• Create and maintain a data governance framework supporting data stewardship, quality, MDM, and retention.
• Lead the Data Governance Council and drive alignment across owners, analytics, compliance and technology.
• Implement scalable data quality processes across oral, medical and social data domains.
• Collaborate with legal to establish data sharing agreements and retention policies.
• Ensure readiness for HIPAA, CMS, SOC 2, and HITRUST compliance.
