Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to lead design documentation and BIM model management using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. You will coordinate with multi-discipline teams to deliver fully coordinated 3D models and generate 2D construction drawings.

You’ll apply Jacobs standards, showcase keen attention to detail, and collaborate with electrical leads to translate design intent into constructible deliverables across C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L disciplines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design documentation and manage Revit BIM models.
• Coordinate with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings from BIM content.
• Work within Jacobs design standards to deliver constructible outputs.
