Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to lead design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline leads. You will create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across all disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L) and produce 2D construction drawings.

Using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD, you’ll collaborate with engineers, architects and designers to turn design intent into constructable deliverables while adhering to Jacobs and client BIM standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage Revit BIM models for electrical design.
• Coordinate with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Follow Jacobs and client BIM standards.
• Develop fully coordinated 3D models across disciplines.
• Collaborate with designers, architects and engineers on the Jacobs design team.
• Support clash-free model coordination and content development.
