Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to develop design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with multi-discipline teams. You will create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings, following Jacobs standards while working with engineers and architects to deliver integrated solutions for data centers and facilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, multi-tasking, and detailed attention.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation creation and management.
• Set-up and management of Revit BIM models across disciplines.
• Coordinate with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage 3D models towards fully coordinated content across design disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers to deliver constructible deliverables.
