Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical BIM Designer to design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with multi-discipline teams. You will use Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD to create coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings for electrical systems.

You will contribute to clash-free deliverables, follow Jacobs design standards, and collaborate with engineers and designers across the project. Hybrid work policy and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards shape design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and setup/management of Revit BIM models.
• Coordinate with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across disciplines and 2D construction drawings.
• Work with electricians and project leads to ensure constructable deliverables and clash-free models.
