Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineer for a distribution design role in the United States. The position focuses on overhead and underground distribution from 4 kV through 34 kV, including short circuit and voltage drop analyses, BOM, and cost estimates.

You will work in a project team with engineers and designers, and contribute to planning modifications and complex tasks. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement (three days in office, two remote) with relocation support depending on location,

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
Two or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience.
Familiarity with distribution design methods and applicable codes and standards.
Experience with distribution software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution networks (4 KV through 34 KV).
Perform structural analyses, short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
Develop bill of materials, cost estimates, and traffic control plans.
Analyze and design priority feeds; support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
Plan modifications and design complex tasks; develop work packages and as-builts.
