Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineer to work in a project team environment, preparing sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution networks from 4 kV to 34 kV. You will analyze design options, provide BOMs, and develop cost estimates while coordinating with designers and other engineers.

Based in the United States, the role involves design code familiarity (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE) and experience with distribution software.

Qualifications

• A BS or MS degree from an engineering program.
• One or more years of experience with electric utility distribution.
• Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods.
• Familiarity with codes and distribution software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform structural analyses, short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Develop work packages and provide as-builts at construction completion.
