Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer to join a project team. You will prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground networks, structural analyses, and design calculations for 120/208V through 34 kV systems, while supporting maintenance and capital projects.

The hybrid role requires ABET-accredited engineering training and strong communication skills, with opportunities for relocation assistance and a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• Two or more years of experience with electric utility distribution.
• Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and associated standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, and similar software.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34 kV).
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform structural analyses and short circuit calculations.
• Develop work packages and provide as-builts at project completion.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan modifications and design complex tasks for distribution systems.
• Create bill of material and cost estimates.
