Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer to join a project team of engineers and designers. You will prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground networks (4 kV through 34 kV), perform analyses, and develop work packages for construction completion.
The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote, with relocation assistance depending on location.
Qualifications
- A BS or MS degree from an engineering program.
- One or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience.
- Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application.
- Familiarity with codes and standards: NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
- Experience with distribution software: AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman and related tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 kV through 34 kV).
- Perform structural analyses and short circuit/voltage drop calculations.
- Create bill of materials and cost estimates for projects.
- Develop traffic control plans and/or permit drawings.
- Analyze and design priority feeds; support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
