Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer Specialist. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 3 days weekly at the Raleigh, NC facility with relocation assistance for qualified US residents. Visa transfer sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.

The role focuses on designing real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS and energy storage products, with global collaboration across product teams and MATLAB/Simulink based simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in real-time digital controls and power electronics.
• MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in real-time controls for industrial products.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for DSP control design.
• Strong C/C++ coding skills.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting safety, reliability, cost and schedule goals.
• Provide guidance and leadership to technical project team members.
• Collaborate with global teams to solve performance, safety, reliability and quality challenges.
• Develop real-time DSP control algorithms for power conversion.
• Create and verify simulations using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Validate designs with real-time simulation systems such as OPAL-RT.
• Interface with cross-functional teams across NPD projects.
