Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division seeks a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer to develop real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS and energy storage systems. This hybrid Raleigh-based role also supports remote work within a 50‑mile radius and includes relocation benefits.

The ideal candidate will design and validate power electronics controls, collaborate with global teams, and drive product development from concept to production, leveraging MATLAB/Simulink and OPAL-RT.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with multiple seniority options.
MS in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience.
PhD in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton commitments.
Guide and lead technical project team members.
Collaborate with global product teams to resolve performance, safety, reliability and component issues.
Develop real-time DSP control algorithms for power electronics.
Create simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and verify designs.
Validate controllers in real-time with HIL testbeds (OPAL-RT).
Evaluate control architectures and select best-fit solutions.
Apply control theory to achieve target product performance.
Interface with cross-functional teams on new product development.
