Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division seeks a Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer Specialist to join a hybrid team in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS and energy storage products, driving design from concept to production within a global, multi-disciplinary group.

You will develop advanced control models, verify designs via simulations, and collaborate across functions to ensure performance, reliability and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics.
• MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years in real-time digital controls for power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time DSP algorithms for power conversion applications.
• Design control systems for high-power UPS and energy storage products.
• Create models and simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and validate with HIL.
• Collaborate with global teams to meet performance, safety and reliability goals.
• Lead technically and guide project members through design iterations.
• Evaluate control architectures to select optimal solution for the application.
