Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Java Software Engineer who will also serve as a Scrum Master in a hybrid role within the Air Traffic Business Area. The position focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production Java microservices while facilitating Agile ceremonies for a SAFe‑aligned team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior experience.
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications.
• 1+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team within a large‑scale software development environment.
• Significant experience with Web development and front‑end tools/languages (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with RESTful API, JSON, XML, XSD and Spring/Spring Boot.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands‑on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production cloud‑native Java microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement.
• Leverage DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software delivery.
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer and stakeholders to communicate status and delivery progress.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote cross‑team collaboration.
