Job summary

Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to support laboratory components of the EHR and related information systems. The role collaborates with informatics teams to design workflows, drive efficiencies, and support leadership decisions through data analysis.

The position emphasizes collaboration with system build teams, frontline staff, governance groups, and vendors. A hybrid work arrangement is expected, with travel as needed within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in clinical discipline, IT/informatics, business, education, management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in a role with primary duties using a clinical information system in healthcare.
• Experience with EHR systems and related clinical information workflows.
• Experience with adult learning concepts and training delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to improve laboratory information systems.
• Respond to improvement needs in functional operation of laboratory computer systems.
• Collaborate to document system design and workflows for clinical and laboratory management.
• Serve as liaison between laboratory stakeholders and system build teams.
• Design, analyze, and optimize clinical and laboratory information systems.
• Ensure system design aligns with standardization, integration, and efficiency and complies with policies and regulations.
• Share knowledge with team members and assist with training materials with education team.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with testing updates and new releases prior to production.
