Job summary

Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to support laboratory components of the EHR and related information systems in a hybrid role. You will work with informatics and leadership to design workflows that improve efficiency and patient safety, and to analyze data to inform decisions.

The role requires collaboration across clinicians, vendors, and executives, plus strong communication and change-management skills. Travel within the region is expected as part of this position.

Qualifications

• 2 years in a role with a clinical information system in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with benefits and challenges of adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to enhance laboratory information systems.
• Respond to improvement needs in functional operation of laboratory computer systems.
• Collaborate to document system design and workflow processes for clinical and lab management.
• Serve as liaison between laboratory stakeholders and system build teams.
• Ensure system design supports standardization, integration and efficiency and complies with policies.
• Develop change communications and training materials with education team.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with testing updates and new releases.
