Job summary

Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to support laboratory components of the EHR, clinical decision support, and LIS. The role involves designing laboratory workflows, performing complex data analysis, and guiding system changes to improve patient safety and operational efficiency.

As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with leadership, frontline staff, governance groups, and vendors to align systems with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical discipline, IT/Informatics, Business, Education, Management, Communications, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 2 years in a position that has the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with benefits and challenges of adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to improve laboratory information systems.
• Respond to improvement needs in the functional operation of laboratory computer systems.
• Collaborate and document system design and workflow processes for clinical and laboratory management.
• Function as a liaison between laboratory stakeholders and the system build teams.
• Provide technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical and laboratory information systems.
• Ensure system design aligns with standardization, integration, and regulatory requirements.
• Share knowledge with team members.
• Develop change communication and training materials with education team.
• Perform routine maintenance; assist with testing updates and new releases.
