Job summary

Providence is hiring a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to support laboratory components of the EHR, CDS and LIS. The role involves collaborating with informatics teams, designing workflows, analyzing data, and driving improvements while aligning with patient safety and regulatory goals.

Hybrid position with opportunities to engage across facilities, regions and vendors, and to lead change with clinicians, staff and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a clinical/IT/informatics or related field or equivalent
• Experience with clinical information systems in healthcare setting
• Experience with EHR systems and clinical workflows
• Knowledge of adult learning principles

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to design, optimize laboratory information systems
• Collaborate to document system design and workflow processes for clinical and lab management
• Serve as liaison between laboratory stakeholders and system build teams
• Ensure standardization, integration, and regulatory compliance in system design
• Share knowledge with team members and support change communication and training materials
• Perform routine maintenance, testing of updates and new releases before production use
