Job summary

Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to independently support laboratory components of the EHR, CDS, and lab-specific information systems. The role involves collaboration to design workflows, drive efficiencies, and support leadership with data-driven decision making.

The position requires strong communication across clinicians, executives, and vendors, with travel across facilities and a hybrid work arrangement in the Providence enterprise information services ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline, information technology/informatics, business, education, management, communications, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 2 years in a role with primary duties involving a clinical information system in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with adult learning concepts and approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to enhance laboratory information systems and related processes.
• Respond to improvement needs in the functional operation of laboratory computer systems.
• Collaborate and document system design and workflow needs for clinical and laboratory management, staff, and providers.
• Serve as a liaison between laboratory stakeholders and system build teams.
• Deliver technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical and laboratory information systems.
• Ensure system design aligns with standardization, integration, and efficiency and complies with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Share knowledge with team members.
• Work with education teams to develop change communication and training materials and obtain approvals.
• Perform routine maintenance, test updates, and new releases prior to production use.
