Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group seeks a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to independently support laboratory components of the EHR, CDS, and lab information systems in a hybrid work setting. You’ll design workflows, analyze data for leadership decisions, and drive standardization while aligning with patient safety and regulatory goals.

You will collaborate with leadership, frontline staff, and vendors to implement changes, document processes, and deliver training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in clinical discipline, Information Technology/Informatics, Business, Education, Management, Communications, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 2 years in a position that has the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with benefits and challenges of adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to enhance laboratory information systems.
• Respond to improvement needs in the functional operation of the laboratory computer systems.
• Document system design and workflow processes for clinical and laboratory management, staff, and providers.
• Function as a liaison between laboratory stakeholders and the system build teams.
• Provide technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical and laboratory information systems.
• Ensure system design aligns with standardization, integration, and efficiency and supports regulatory compliance.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate on training materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with testing updates and new releases prior to production use.
• Frequent travel among facilities and regions, on-call may be required.
