Job summary

Providence seeks a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist (Hybrid) to support laboratory components of the EHR, clinical decision support, and lab information systems. The role acts as a subject matter expert, designing and optimizing laboratory workflows to drive efficiency and outcomes.

You will collaborate with leadership, frontline staff, governance groups, and vendors; translate needs into system changes, provide training materials, and align with patient safety and regulatory goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline, IT/informatics, business, education, management, or communications, or related field.
• 2 years in a role with the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with benefits and challenges of adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to enhance laboratory information systems and workflows.
• Respond to improvement needs in the functional operation of the laboratory computer systems.
• Collaborate and document system design and workflow processes for clinical and laboratory management, staff, and providers.
• Function as a liaison between laboratory stakeholders and the system build teams.
• Provide technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize laboratory information systems.
• Ensure system design aligns with standardization, integration, and regulatory requirements.
• Share knowledge with team members and work with the education team on training materials.
• Perform routine maintenance, assist with testing updates and new releases prior to production use.
• Travel among facilities is required; on-call and after-hours work may be required.
