Job summary

Symetra seeks a Business Systems Analyst to configure and enhance technology solutions that support operational needs. You will partner with business and technology teams to translate requirements into practical system improvements.

The role emphasizes problem solving, learning new systems, and delivering value through configuration and process optimization. A strong analytical mindset and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in business systems analysis, operations, technology, insurance, or related field.
Experience with FINEOS or similar configurable business platforms preferred.
Experience in group benefits insurance preferred.
Experience with SmartComm preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; SDLC understanding.

Responsibilities

Configure and maintain business applications including workflows, rules, forms, UI, data elements.
Analyze needs and support design, testing, and implementation of enhancements.
Create and maintain business requirements, system specs, and process flows.
Collaborate with business and technology partners to troubleshoot and improve performance.
Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, testing, and deployment planning.
Coordinate system changes across environments and support deployments.
Develop test plans, validate changes, and support UAT.
Provide production support and assist users with system functionality.
Support reporting, data management, and ongoing optimization.
Contribute to projects and continuous improvement of operations.
