Vail Health is seeking an organized patient registration specialist to manage on-site and remote tasks, including collecting patient information, consents, and insurance details. You will coordinate with providers and patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance while handling payments and documentation.

The role supports billing and eligibility checks, maintains EMR records, and collaborates across departments. It requires HIPAA compliance and strong customer service in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, previous admitting, clerical, customer service, or hospitality, preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources, preferred.
• Course work in Medical Terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and performs registration-related functions, including obtaining consents and authorizations and collecting financial paperwork.
• Communicates with patients, providers, and colleagues in person and via email/phone/teams.
• Checks CMS requirements for coverage/eligibility and communicates information to patients.
• Maintains patient records and scans medical records in a timely manner.
• Posts monies collected and data entry of charge codes to the financial system.
• Supports departmental data collection, audits, and reporting per payors and compliance regulations.
• Works in Edwards and Frisco, with remote work as needed and on-site Fridays.
• Attends staff meetings and assists training of new staff.
• Models Just Culture and organizational values.
• Performs other duties and remains HIPAA compliant.
