Job summary

Eastern Bank is seeking a Service Associate who will perform a hybrid role combining traditional customer service and teller duties. You will open deposit accounts, process loans, and refer customers to other bank services, while also handling daily maintenance and sales targets.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of sales experience, and some banking exposure is a plus. The role includes some heavy customer interaction and compliance to bank policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of sales experience in a retail, financial services or hospitality environment preferred.
• Some banking experience is preferred (e.g., teller or otherwise) is a plus.
• Basic business acumen and professionalism is a must.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

Responsibilities

• Opens deposit accounts and processes loan applications for various lending units.
• Closes loans for customers and makes referrals to other bank lines and third‑party partners.
• Proactively reaches out to high‑value customers to retain and grow the portfolio.
• Handles daily account maintenance and adheres to bank policies and procedures.
• Understand and support quarterly sales goals.
• Process deposits, verify cash and endorsements, and provide receipts.
• Process and record the sale of monetary instruments and large cash transaction reports.
• Process foreign currency purchases/sales and loan payments.
