Buro Happold Limited in New York is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer – Aviation to provide senior leadership on complex aviation projects. You will guide technical excellence, lead multidisciplinary delivery, and build lasting client relationships while supporting business development.

The role requires 15+ years in mechanical design for building services and 10+ years in aviation leadership; a PE license or equivalent is required. Revit, CFD, and energy modeling experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of mechanical design experience in building services.
• 10+ years leading aviation projects.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of FAA requirements and airport operations.
• PE license or equivalent; LEED AP preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit, CFD, and energy modeling.
• Experience in leadership within an MEP consultancy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership across complex aviation projects.
• Oversee multidisciplinary design, technical quality, and deliverables.
• Mentor engineers and foster innovation.
