Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead aviation projects within the Building Environments Group. You will oversee technical excellence, multidisciplinary delivery, and client relationships while driving business development in a global context.

Key responsibilities include delivering design leadership, coordinating drawings and specifications, and ensuring financial performance across multiple aviation projects. A PE license and LEED AP are preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in mechanical engineering design for buildings and construction.
• 10+ years in aviation projects with leadership responsibility.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership across complex aviation projects and deliver technical excellence.
• Mentor and coach team members to foster innovation and effective delegation.
• Lead client relationships, business development and successful project delivery.
