Job summary

Buro Happold seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer for aviation projects within its Building Environments Group. You will provide strategic and technical leadership across complex projects, building strong client relationships and guiding multidisciplinary teams.

You will bring 15+ years in mechanical design, 10+ years in aviation, and a PE license, plus FAA knowledge. Join us to mentor colleagues, drive BD, and deliver high-quality, on-time solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Mechanical Engineering design in building services/construction.
• 10+ years in aviation with leadership of complex projects.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of FAA requirements and aviation industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for project teams and the broader group.
• Lead senior technical and project leadership across large aviation projects.
• Mentor and coach colleagues to foster innovation and delegation.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and team members to deliver world-class solutions.
• Oversee production of design drawings, specifications, and site Reports to ensure high quality.
