Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an instrumentation and controls engineer to design and specify control systems, develop P&IDs, and lead junior staff on projects.

You will review drawings, assist with testing and startup, and support proposals while travelling 20–40% and working on hybrid teams.

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience required; equivalent experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Creates basic to moderately complex instrumentation and control system designs by developing P&IDs, control architectures, specifications and descriptions.
• Reviews basic to highly complex component level shop drawings and contractor clarifications; assists with testing oversight.
• Leads staff and mentors junior staff; reviews their work as needed.
• Assists in preparing proposal sections and presentations; supports marketing to Automation strategy; may participate in proposals.
• Performs other duties as required.
