Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an instrumentation and controls specialist to design basic to moderately complex systems, including P&IDs and control architectures, with supervision. You will contribute to tests, start-up oversight, and collaboration with project teams in a dynamic environment.

The role requires strong PLC/HMI knowledge, excellent communication, and experience with 3D/4D design practices. Some travel is expected to support engineering projects across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Creates P&IDs, control system architectures, specifications, and control descriptions.
• Reviews basic to highly complex component level shop drawings, contractor clarifications; assists with testing oversight.
• Leads staff and provides direction and mentoring for junior staff; reviews their work as necessary.
• Supports proposals and presentations; contributes to marketing and automation strategy.
• Performs other duties as required.
