Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls engineer to design and specify instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects. You will develop P&ID diagrams, control system architectures, and related documentation, while supporting testing and startup activities.

The role also involves mentoring junior staff, contributing to proposals, and collaborating on automation strategies. Travel is expected to accommodate project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 5 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Travel may be required; frequency depends on project demands.

Responsibilities

• Create instrumentation and control system designs using P&ID, control architectures and specifications.
• Assist in testing, startup, and review of shop drawings and clarifications.
• Develop basic HMI graphics and support PLC programming activities.
• Lead and mentor junior staff; review work as needed.
• Assist in proposal preparation and marketing activities as directed.
• Perform other duties as required.
