Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a technically skilled IT Support Specialist for the Public Utilities Technical Services Operations Support team. You will support BannerCX, Service-Link Mobile Order Dispatching, and related interfaces, plus develop user guides and training for staff.

Ideal candidates have experience with CIS, system administration, relational databases, Power BI, SQL, and reporting tools; strong communication and ability to train non-technical users; and a valid driver's

Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to four years in functional support for automated business operations
Must have a current and valid driver’s license
Experience with Customer Information System, system administrator, power user, or functional lead
Working knowledge of relational databases
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users
Willing to work extra hours during emergencies

Responsibilities

Deliver daily support and management for BannerCX and Service-Link Mobile Order Dispatching
Provide end-user training and documentation for end users and internal teams
Assist with asset maintenance and inventory management of hardware and software
Review SQL and create/modify reports using Power BI, JasperSoft, and other tools
Coordinate with IT and vendors to resolve software and hardware issues
Develop and document business procedures and user guides
