Job summary

Ramboll is seeking an Acoustical Lead Consultant for a full-time, hybrid role based in California offices (San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, or Irvine). The position emphasizes CEQA environmental noise assessments, project execution, client interaction, and independent, detail-oriented work.

You will advise on noise surveys, modeling with CadnaA/SoundPlan, prepare reports and proposals, and coordinate with CEQA lead agencies.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in an Engineering, Science, or Mathematics related major with 6+ years of acoustical consulting experience; CEQA experience is required.
• Practical knowledge of CEQA review process including IS and EIR.
• LORS assessment experience including California Government Code, municipal codes, and General Plan Noise Elements; agency familiarity such as Caltrans and CEC.
• Technical expertise in assessing noise and vibration impacts from construction, traffic, and operations; able to develop feasible mitigations.
• Experience coordinating with CEQA lead agencies and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support acoustical consulting projects and client relationships
• Develop and implement project execution approaches
• Perform environmental noise surveys, sound level analyses, and computer modeling with CadnaA or SoundPlan
• Prepare reports, present results to clients, and draft proposals & fee estimates
• Review and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations
