Job summary

The role collaborates with attorneys, administrative teams, and Finance to ensure timely, compliant vendor payments and proper client matter cost recording.

The candidate will supervise AP staff, drive process improvements, and coordinate with Billing on cost recovery and reimbursements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible accounts payable or accounting experience, including supervision.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable controls and general ledger coding.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment and record retention.
• Review invoices for documentation, approvals, coding, and compliance with firm policies.
• Coordinate payment runs and vendor inquiries while maintaining approval processes and segregation of duties.
• Maintain vendor records, tax documentation, and changes to payment instructions.
• Support month-end and year-end close, accruals, audits, and Form 1099 preparation.
• Lead AP staff and develop their daily priorities and performance.
