Job summary

KAHANA & FELD LLP is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead vendor invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and internal controls. The role directs the AP team and collaborates with attorneys, Administrative and Finance to ensure expenses are accurate, approved, paid on time, and allocated to the correct client matter.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of AP or accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities, with familiarity in law firm environments and Aderant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible accounts payable or accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system, such as Aderant, preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to resolve issues across departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to record retention.
• Review invoices for documentation, approvals, coding, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate payment runs and vendor inquiries with proper approvals and segregation of duties.
• Maintain vendor records and oversee tax documentation and payment instruction changes.
• Reconcile accounts payable records and support close, accruals, audits, and Form 1099.
• Supervise and develop AP staff and coordinate with Procurement and Expense Manager on standards and training.
• Oversee client and matter expense recording and collaboration with Billing to resolve coding issues.
• Lead process improvements and cross-functional collaboration to improve accuracy and timeliness.
