Job summary

Kahana Feld seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the firm’s AP operations, ensure accurate processing and timely payments, and maintain internal controls. The role leads an AP team, coordinates with attorneys, administrative and Finance departments, and supports client matter cost recovery and proper ledger coding.

The position requires 5+ years in AP or accounting, preferred law-firm exposure, and a strong grasp of AP controls and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounts payable or accounting with leadership experience.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Solid understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system, such as Aderant, preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with ability to resolve cross-department issues.
• Discretion handling confidential financial, employee, vendor, and client information.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment and record retention.
• Review invoices for documentation, approvals, accurate coding, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate payment runs and vendor inquiries with proper approvals and segregation of duties.
• Maintain vendor records and oversee tax documentation and payment instructions.
• Support month-end close, accruals, audits, and Form 1099 preparation.
