Job summary

Kahana Feld LLP seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the firm’s AP operations, including invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and internal controls. You will lead the AP team and work closely with attorneys, administrative staff, and Finance to ensure expenses are accurately recorded to the correct client matters and GL accounts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system, such as Aderant, preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with ability to resolve cross‑department issues.
• Sound judgment and discretion handling confidential financial information.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment and record retention.
• Review invoices for documentation, approvals, coding, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate payment runs and vendor inquiries while maintaining proper approvals.
• Maintain vendor records and controls for setup, tax docs, and payment instructions.
• Support month-end/year-end close, accruals, audits, and 1099 preparation.
• Lead AP staff by prioritizing daily work and monitoring performance.
• Collaborate with Billing for client cost recovery and with Finance on process improvements.
