Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Account Manager in Sunnyvale to expand our footprint with existing customers. You will manage the full sales cycle—from discovery through negotiation—and collaborate with Sales Engineering and channel partners to drive revenue growth.

You will engage with C-suite stakeholders, including CISOs and CIOs, and maintain exceptional customer service while expanding our Proofpoint product footprint across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of solution sales experience
• Experience selling to C-suite, with CISO/CIO/CTO preferred
• Consistent track record of meeting/exceeding quota
• Experience managing longer sales cycles (2–6 months) from prospecting to close
• Experience with established sales methodologies such as SPIN, Sandler, Miller Heiman, Value Selling or The Challenger Sale is preferred

Responsibilities

• Hybrid role in Sunnyvale office 4 days a week (Mon–Thu).
• Sell to existing customers and identify additional solutions.
• Drive full sales process from prospecting to close.
• Develop and utilize effective close plans with Sales Engineering.
• Coordinate with channel partners to drive incremental revenue.
• Forecasting and strategic account planning with management.
• Provide high-touch customer service including escalation handling.
• Becoming a perpetual student of Proofpoint products and cybersecurity trends.
• Travel may be required for key accounts
