Job summary

AAON is seeking an Engineering Technician/Engineer for R&D testing of HVAC products in Tulsa, OK. The role supports and directs technicians in psychometric chamber testing and small project work to advance the R&D Laboratory.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Engineering, EPA 608, and 1–2 years in HVAC with strong data analysis and teamwork skills to ensure test accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or ABET-equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years in HVAC industry or similar field.
• EPA 608 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineers and lab technicians to determine testing actions.
• Ensure complete BOM and materials usage during testing and rework.
• Review test plans to confirm design compliance with standards.
• Maintain testing schedule by securing equipment and parts.
• Prepare test units and ensure readiness for testing.
• Coordinate HVAC testing in various setups and psychrometric chambers.
• Ensure test chamber equipment is calibrated and functioning.
• Validate data quality for product evaluation against DOE/ASHRAE/ISO/ASME standards.
• Lead small projects independently under supervision.
• Handle multiple tasks with guidance from engineers or management.
