Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas seeks a Technical Services Supervisor to lead field technicians on the Long Island City team, overseeing troubleshooting, startups, and complex repairs. The role emphasizes safety, warranty recovery, and proactive service delivery in commercial HVAC settings.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate field operations, and partner with Service Sales to deliver customer-focused solutions while maintaining compliance with codes and company policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree OR relevant experience paired with a technical/trade school HVAC certification.
• 2-4 years of people leadership experience
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
• Knowledge of HVAC system types, application methods, and operational performance within commercial and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for service technicians and SSRs.
• Provide advanced HVAC troubleshooting and field support.
• Support equipment startups, commissioning, and complex repairs.
• Review service opportunities and develop technical solutions.
• Manage warranty claims, documentation, and recovery efforts.
• Assist with estimating, scope reviews, and technical risk assessments.
• Mentor, coach, and develop service technicians.
• Conduct field visits to support technicians and resolve escalations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
• Coordinate technician schedules, project execution, and resource planning.
• Review service reports and validate repair recommendations.
• Support preventative maintenance programs and service agreement commitments.
• Identify repair, retrofit, and equipment replacement opportunities.
• Partner with Service Sales to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Develop technician training plans and support ongoing certifications.
• Monitor departmental performance, including revenue, labor utilization, and warranty recovery.
• Maintain oversight of tools, vehicles, equipment, and warehouse inventory.
