Job summary

Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring an Application Engineer II (Equipment) to lead the equipment portion of HVAC projects, validating selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes.

You will review plans and specs, identify cost savings, support sales with submittals, negotiate prices with vendors, and provide post-order technical support during installation, startup, and warranty.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field; 2+ years HVAC project management/estimation.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree considered; practical experience prioritized.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and validate equipment selection, size, voltage, and options for HVAC projects.
• Evaluate potential cost savings and problems on projects.
• Prepare submittals and support cost tracking and approvals.
• Provide technical support during installation, start-up, and warranty.
