Job summary

Trane Technologies in Denver, CO is hiring an Application Engineer II to manage the equipment portion of project submissions, validate equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittals, and drive budget performance. You will support sales, coordinate submittals, and ensure accurate equipment pricing and coordination worksheets.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related fields, 2+ years in HVAC project management or estimating (or 5+ years in HVAC), and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in HVAC project management or estimating roles OR 5+ years in HVAC industry in similar roles.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and/or temperature controls preferred.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate HVAC equipment: size, configuration, voltage, options based on plans and specs.
• Evaluate cost savings or problems across projects.
• Validate project scope and quantities; plan EQ/VPP dollar breaks; coordinate submittals.
• Support sales with preliminary or final submittals and hold cost consensus meetings.
• Negotiate prices with vendors to optimize expenses.
• Prepare equipment for order entry and reconcile job costs.
• Provide post-order technical support for installation, startup, and warranty.
