Job summary

Baker Distributing Company is seeking a Counter Sales Associate to manage our sales counter in a wholesale HVAC distributorship. You will provide strong customer service in a sales-focused environment and assist customers with parts sourcing, order processing, and up-selling opportunities.

Ideal candidates have HVAC equipment experience in wholesale distribution, a background in sales or inventory management, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• HVAC equipment experience in wholesale distribution is required.
• Background in sales, operations, purchasing, or inventory management preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service focus; problem-solving and relationship-building.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; accommodations available.

Responsibilities

• Represent Baker Distributing Company as a leader in the industry ensuring maximum sales.
• Interact with internal and outside salespeople, vendors and contractors.
• Responsible for showroom merchandising and re-stocking product.
• Assist in resolving customer relations problems with dealers and end users.
• Complete sales order process for customers with efforts to up-sell items.
• Service walk-in and telephone customers and assist with sourcing and shipping parts.
• Provide product and service information by researching products via computer, catalog, or reference sources.
• Arrange stock on shelves and keep merchandise in order.
• Apply suggestive selling techniques and up-sell to customers.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE as required.
