Job summary

R.E. Michel Company, LLC in Medford, MA is seeking a Counter Sales role. You will assist customers, process orders, and handle deliveries and warehouse duties. The position requires strong customer service, cash handling, and familiarity with Prophet 21.

Responsibilities include invoicing, payments, returns, and maintaining displays while delivering friendly, accurate service in a fast-paced branch environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication with the general public and/or customers.
• Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills to service customers in the branch, on the telephone or at the delivery site.
• Demonstrated proficiency while operating a computer and Prophet 21.
• Basic math skills. Understands the difference between calculating markup and calculating gross margin and the effect of that calculation on sales, gross margin, expenses, bottom line, and controllable expenses.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls and service customers in person or by phone.
• Enter customer orders into the system on the day the order is received.
• Pull customer orders from the warehouse and load into delivery truck or staged for pickup.
• Process invoices and CODs, along with vendor purchase orders and shipping/receiving paperwork.
• Collect payment via cash or credit card and follow money handling procedures.
• Follow procedure to process customer returns and warranties the same day received.
• Maintain a clean, organized self-service area and restock displays as needed.
• Provide product recommendations and educate customers on available products.
