Job summary

R.E. Michel Company, LLC in Pelham, AL is seeking a Counter Sales 1 to greet customers, answer calls, locate items and process invoices in a fast-paced branch.

You will load products for delivery, assist customers on the floor, enter orders on the same day and maintain a clean, safe work environment while promoting company programs.

This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Branch Manager and requires excellent communication, basic math, and proficiency with Prophet 21.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication with the general public and customers.
• Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills to service customers in-person, on the phone, or at delivery sites.
• Proficiency operating a computer and Prophet 21.
• Basic math skills and understanding of markup vs gross margin.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly customer service following 'Customer First' standards.
• Greet customers and maintain a positive attitude on entry.
• Enter orders in the system the same day they are received.
• Pull orders from warehouse and load for delivery or pickup.
• Prepare invoices, CODs, and shipping paperwork accurately.
• Process returns and warranties the same day they are received.
• Maintain neat, stocked, safe service area and displays.
• Educate customers on products and promotions.
