Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Project Manager to lead on-site HVAC control projects from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout.

You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, field resources, and customers to ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget and contract requirements. The role emphasizes planning, cost control, change management, risk mitigation, QA, and strong customer relationships, with oversight of documentation and field execution

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, or related field with 4+ years of relevant HVAC/construction project experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated PM experience, construction admin, and field leadership preferred.
• Hands-on design, installation, startup, commissioning, turnover of digital HVAC or BAS control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC controls projects through design, programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution with subcontractors, electricians, technicians, designers, and staff.
• Manage project financials: costs, billings, collections, cash flow, and gross margin.
• Maintain regular customer communication and support long-term relationships.
• Review scope, directives, bulletins, changes; pursue change orders as needed.
• Coordinate procurement: materials, vendor pricing, delivery schedules.
• Oversee loading, verification, commissioning of controllers and equipment.
• Ensure system functionality and finalize installation per requirements.
• Prepare as-built records, commissioning docs, manuals, warranties.
• Provide site training for owners/operators.
